I took my son to see Dr. Comia when he was 3 and 6 months old. He was diagnosed as having PDD, ADHD, ODD, and Sensory Integration Dysfunction. He hand-flapped, toe-walked, did not have great eye contact, stuttered, and did not have a very detailed talk or play. He was not potty-trained and still woke up through the night. He was whiny, irritable, very oppositional. He had meltdowns with aggression mainly at daycare from too much stimulation from other kids. He would tantrum with the many transitions throughout the day. His social behavior and appropriate behavior were very delayed. He was very clumsy and had so many other things; it's hard to remember and put back into words all of the issues we dealt with before seeing Dr. Comia.
Today my son is 4 and 2 months old. He is Gluten/Casein-free, additive and yeast-free, and on SCD (Specific Carbohydate Diet). He takes nutritional supplements, B12 injections and an antifungal for yeast issues. He uses natural detoxification enhancing creams, and every two weeks he uses a chelating cream for 3 days. The first things I remember noticing was his eye- contact was great, his stuttering was a lot less, he started having beginnings, middle, and endings to his sentences. I would hear him in the bathtub having a ton of pretend play with his toys. The whining and the aggression were so much better. He does not hand-flap or toe-walk anymore. He continues each day to gain back appropriate social behavior. He was potty-trained in weeks and sleeps through the night. He actually stays and takes his time-out if he misbehaves. He has many transitions throughout the day, going to pre-school in the morning and then the daycare in the afternoons and he is doing well.
I am truly grateful to have found Dr. Comia. She is more like a friend who has been through this already and can understand that although this is not by any means easy, it is the most important thing you can do for your child.

Dr. Comia has been my physician for nearly two years now, on the recommendation of Dr. Sydney Baker, now of Long Island. I particularly appreciate that not only is she trained in traditional medicine and treatment, but she is open to bonafide alternative medicine, the effectiveness of a correct diet, and a right lifestyle, as a means of bringing healing. In fact, for my chronic cough, she advised my going on a lactose -free and gluten free diet. After a month, I was considerably improved and in three months, the cough was gone. Also, at another time, she surgically removed a small growth from my face (which turned out to be benign) and the area healed perfectly with no trace.
Dr. Comia's warmth of personality, her genuine desire to help her patients find healing, and her professionalism are qualities that make her standout as a physician. I have no hesitation in commending her.
